Afton Village Kitchen

The homeowners of this 1950’s home wanted a larger kitchen with more storage, better flow and an island. The kitchen was small, the cabinets original to the house and a peninsula which cramped the space and obstructed flow.  The reconfigured kitchen was enlarged with the removal of doors and a chimney making room for additional cabinets. Cabinets were designed, built and painted by CBJ. They are inset and have furniture style custom toe kicks. A focal point is the artistic decorative tile behind the range.  Marble was a traditional elegant choice for counters, backsplash and the 7’ by 5’ island with a marble slab top. A wall was removed to an adjoining room which was used as a formal dining room/office and became a breakfast room. Passage from the kitchen into the breakfast room is unique, with cabinets with see thru glass for displaying items. This project also includes brass hardware, a polished nickel Touch faucet, stainless appliances, LED recessed, pendant, undercounter lighting and refinished hardwood floors.
